Leny Yoro is looking toward the top of the Premier League table as Manchester United travel to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
Rúben Amorim’s men make the trip to North London on Saturday afternoon to take on Tottenham Hotspur, looking to build on their four-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.
Manchester United’s form has improved significantly in recent weeks, with victories over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton, alongside a draw against Nottingham Forest. Since a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in mid-September, they’ve suffered just one loss.
Tottenham, meanwhile, sit level on points with United but have struggled on home soil this season. Thomas Frank’s side have won only once in five home games — a 3-0 triumph over Burnley — and were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in their most recent home fixture.
The sides met four times last season, including in the Europa League final, with Spurs coming out on top each time. Amorim’s team will be out to change that narrative when they visit the capital this weekend.
Yoro looking up the Premier League table
Before United’s fixture against Forest ended in a 2-2 draw, the side were 1-0 up, which momentarily put them second in the Premier League table. While United now sit 8th, they are just two points off second-place Manchester City and sit level on points with Tottenham in sixth place.
With teams above United, such as Arsenal playing Sunderland and Liverpool playing Manchester City, a win would help Amorim’s men climb the table. However, having lost four times to Tottenham last year, United centre-back Leny Yoro is wary of the threat they pose.
Amorim has been keen to stress that no game is more important than any other, which Yoro agrees with. However, the Frenchman also pointed out that three points against Tottenham would see United close in on the top spots in the Premier League table.
“Everyone knows what happened in the final, so I think this game can be a good game for us to prove that maybe the final can have another result,” Yoro told the Manchester World. “Every game is important for us. This one is not more important than the other one, but we want to win every game.
“I think the team now is in good momentum. We drew the last game, but before this, we won, I think, three games in a row. We know we can do better than last game, but we’re still in good momentum. We’re still confident.
“Like you said, this game against Tottenham will be important for us to go into the international break with three points. This is going to help us to be in the top of the league, so we need to win this game.”
United must continue taking it one game at a time
For those faithful to United, the notion that the club are so close to the top spots in the table, including being second place at half-time against Nottingham Forest.

However, it’s ultimately the most important that those around he club, and the players too, just aim to beat those in front of them each weekend and do not focus too much on what’s going on around them.
United aims to finish in the top six this season, which would mean securing a spot among the top six in the league table, a very achievable goal. At home, the side have been good, but away from home, there has been much left to be desired, which is a cause for concern.
The game against Tottenham in North London is against a side who have only won one Premier League game at home this season, so presents itself as a perfect chance to snatch a major three points in the race for European spots, but Amorim must make sure his side do not get carried away.
