Benjamin Šeško was full of praise for a Manchester United teammate after Michael Carrick’s side secured their third consecutive victory on Sunday afternoon against Fulham.
Manchester United took all three points on Sunday against Fulham in a dramatic encounter against the Londoners.
United led 2-0 thanks to goals from Casemiro and Matheus Cunha. Fulham were playing well, though, and their hard work was eventually rewarded as Raúl Jiménez converted a penalty. In stoppage time, Brazilian winger Kevin scored a sublime goal to bring the visitors level.
That joy was very short-lived, though. Just like last week at the Emirates, United restored their lead immediately, this time through Benjamin Šeško, who replaced Cunha with roughly 15 minutes left to play.
The win lifts United back into fourth place after both Chelsea and Liverpool won on Saturday as the race for Champions League football intensifies. It is now three wins in three games for Michael Carrick since taking over.
Šeško praises Casemiro
Following United’s outing vs Fulham, Šeško was full of praise for his Brazilian teammate Casemiro.
Šeško on Casemiro: “He is an unbelievable player, a legend. It is nice to play with him, and it is also nice to listen to his advice.
“His work rate is unbelievable, and he gives all his teams a boost. We are grateful to have him with us.”
Casemiro, who joined United in 2022, is now in the final months of his stay at Old Trafford. Despite his impressive performances so far this season, even in Rúben Amorim’s dysfunctional set-up, the former Real Madrid player has confirmed that he will not be extending his contract.
United are extremely reliant on Casemiro
Casemiro has been one of Manchester United’s most important players since he arrived almost four years ago. He has had periods, particularly in his second season under Erik ten Hag, where he struggled, but he has been impactful for the most part.
Defensively, he is brilliant at winning duels in the middle of the park and regaining possession. He is extremely progressive with his passing on the ball and is brilliant in the final third, both through his ability to score goals and create.

As seen against Fulham, when Casemiro goes off, United struggle. Carrick’s side gave up a 2-0 lead after Manuel Ugarte replaced Casemiro.
United have conceded 24 goals with Ugarte on the pitch this season, despite the fact that he’s only started nine games. The Uruguayan has failed to make any kind of positive impact since moving to United in 2024 from Paris Saint-Germain, and moving him on should be high on United’s list of priorities in the summer.
United’s summer recruitment will focus mainly on midfield, with possibly two new additions expected. Elliot Anderson is said to be at the top of United’s shortlist, but competition for the Nottingham Forest midfielder’s signature is expected to be fierce.
Carlos Baleba has admirers at Old Trafford, and it’s well-documented that United have previously explored a deal for the Cameroonian midfielder, while Adam Wharton has also regularly been linked to the club.
