Manchester United will receive an offer from Qatari investors on Friday, whilst the club could be sold before the end of next month.

The Glazer family’s ownership at Old Trafford looks to be finally coming to a conclusion after 18 years in charge of the super club.

It has been revealed by Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail that the Middle Eastern state will launch their bid for the club on Friday ahead of the ‘soft deadline’ at 10pm, with Sky adding that this opening offer will be around £5 billion.

Despite the Glazers aiming for a £6 billion sale, there is a growing confidence that there will be a successful outcome sooner rather than later.

In fact, the aforementioned report from Keegan also included further information on this subject, claiming that the takeover could be complete within six weeks and that based on the interest shown, the Glazers could be out of the club by the end of March.

The Qataris are expected to face opposition from four other groups for the English club, with interest coming from the US, Asia and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

It seems ever more likely that the investors from Qatar will be the successful party, however. They are confident of winning the race and their incredible wealth, alongside that of Saudi Arabia, has left other interested parties with an uphill battle.

Keegan added in his report that interested parties who initially explored making their own offers for United have resigned themselves to being blown out of the water by the groups who have sovereign backing.

Meanwhile, United have been impressing on the pitch this season under Erik ten Hag. The Reds are unbeaten at Old Trafford since August and are currently third in the Premier League – five points from the summit of the table.

Their most recent game came in the Europa League against Barcelona as they drew 2-2 with the La Liga leaders at the Camp Nou in the first leg of their round-of-32 clash.
