Kobbie Mainoo has reacted to the latest departure at Manchester United as a positive pre-season trend has been noticed.
Manchester United returned to pre-season training at the start of the week as the squad prepares for a crucial season next term.
There has been a lot of changes off the pitch in the last year, with two rounds of redundancies to trim the workforce at Old Trafford.
The instability has also led to other departures occurring, including some employees who have spend long periods of their life with the club.
Another exit has been confirmed this week, and there have been several players who have reacted to the news.
Mainoo reacts to United departure
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Paolo Gaudino would be leaving the club after spending 14 years at Old Trafford.
Initially brought in as a Sports Scientist, the Italian experienced the final Premier League title win under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
Gaudino then became a fitness coach in 2019 and has now confirmed that he will be departing with a message on his Instagram page.
Not many people have a picture of them posing alongside Sir Alex Ferguson with the Premier League trophy, and that is the image Gaudino uploaded, with the message: “2011-2025, 14 beautiful years, Ciao.”
Kobbie Mainoo was one of the first to respond to the exit. “All the best Paolo ❤️” the Academy graduate wrote in the comments.
Juan Mata also responded, “Grandeeeee 🙌❤️”, while Facundo Pellistri left a love-heart emoji. Lisandro Martínez, Rasmus Højlund and Rio Ferdinand all liked the post too.
Positive pre-season trend at United
In terms of the fitness at Old Trafford, it has felt like United have missed the mark for several years on how to prepare their players.
As fans, we don’t know the details behind the scenes but so often we’ve seen players bulk up and seemingly lose their agility and ability to get across the park.
Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Casemiro and even Mainoo are just some of the examples, but fans have noticed a positive trend this pre-season.
During the opening week, United supporters have noticed that almost all of the returning players look slimmer than they did at the end of last term, with players like Mainoo, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw in great shape.
This, of course, does not guarantee them any success for next season, but it looks to be a positive trend after Amorim pointed out the importance of physicality in the Premier League.
