Kobbie Mainoo provides 10-year response that Man United fans will love to hear
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo provided the perfect response when asked what he plans for the next 10 years of his career.
Mainoo, 19, has been excellent for Erik ten Hag’s side in his first full season with the first team.
The midfielder has started the last 19 Premier League games in a row for United and has been one of the bright sparks during a dim season for the club.
United currently sit eighth in the league table but do still have an FA Cup final against Manchester City at the end of the month for a chance of silverware.
At the moment, the club are negotiating with Mainoo over a new deal that could keep him at Old Trafford until at least 2030.
The teenager’s extreme qualities mean that if United do not improve in the coming years, top clubs will undoubtedly be trying to convince Mainoo to move.
Yet, when asked about his plans for the next 10 years of his career during an interview with Sky Sports this week, Mainoo provided a simple yet perfect answer in the eyes of United fans.
“Like, keep improving, hopefully be a part of something great, the next generation of United, and hopefully go on to win many things for the club,” the teenager stated.
Then asked whether it has been difficult to deal with the hype around him, Mainoo added: “I try not to listen to it, to be honest.
“And obviously, it’s such a big club like United, there’s always pressure, there’s always hype.
“I just try and keep my head down and just keep on working.”
