Casemiro agrees with Kobbie Mainoo’s Manchester United contract decision
Casemiro has agreed with a decision taken by Kobbie Mainoo’s camp with regards to a new Manchester United contract.
Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro have started to form a quality pairing in midfield since the return of the Brazilian from injury, with this also coinciding with a good run of form across 2024 so far for Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag, since introducing Mainoo into the starting XI for the first-team squad, has seen the 18-year-old grow from strength to strength, with Mainoo now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

There has been a lot of talk surrounding Mainoo’s future, and a decision was recently taken by Mainoo’s camp to not enter talks for a new contract until the end of the season, with everyone keen to allow Mainoo to instead continue working hard and gain as much experience in professional football as possible.
Speaking to TeamViewer Diaries, Casemiro has agreed that this is exactly what Mainoo needs to continue to grow.
“Obviously, it’s a long and tough journey,” Casemiro said. “I always try to tell him this: that things aren’t easy, that you always have to work hard.

“You always need to want more and more. That’s what football is. But you can tell he has his head on straight. He’s a great player. Without a doubt, we’ll have a great player on our side for a long time.”
He continued: “Obviously, you always try to give tips and talk about your experience, but I always say that actions offer the best experience.
“The examples you set and your actions, on and off the pitch, are the most important things. That’s what I always try to tell them. I try to be a role model for them – on and off the pitch.”
