Joshua Zirkzee has already responded to Juventus links even after the Italian club’s director hinted at a possible January move for the Manchester United man.

Manchester United’s form under Ruben Amorim has been inconsistent, with just four wins in his first 11 matches in charge.

While some players have excelled in his system, others have struggled to adjust, highlighting the need for reinforcements for the new 39-year-old boss.

One player yet to make a notable impact under Amorim is summer signing Joshua Zirkzee, who arrived from Bologna for approximately £35 million.

With only four goals and two assists in 27 appearances this season, Zirkzee’s performances have already raised questions about his long-term future at the club.

He was substituted in the first half of United’s defeat to Newcastle earlier this week, only sparking further doubts surrounding the Dutch international.

Juventus director addresses Zirkzee rumours

The main club that has been linked with Zirkzee is Italian side Juventus, who were close to signing him in the summer window before United swooped in.

Juventus boss Thiago Motta joined the club in the summer from Bologna, where he worked with Zirkzee and helped the 23-year-old excel.

Motta’s appreciation for Zirkzee is very well-known and a transfer looks like it could happen in the near future.

Juventus management director Cristiano Giuntoli was asked about the prospect of signing the United forward and refused to rule any deal out, suggesting that the Italian club are eyeing ‘interesting opportunities’ in the January window.

“Zirkzee? It’s not appropriate to mention names, but we are keeping an eye on any interesting opportunities, and we will move to strengthen the defence,” Guintoli said, as per Football Italia.

Zirkzee’s response to transfer rumours is clear

Despite his difficulties at Old Trafford so far, Zirkzee isn’t willing to give up so soon and wants to fight for his place under Amorim.

That’s according to a report from MailOnline, which claims that the 23-year-old is well aware of interest from Italy but has ‘no desire to leave’ United.

The Dutchman is fully focused on helping the Reds turn their season around, as they currently linger 14th in the Premier League table.

While he is yet to fully impress in England, Zirkzee has had limited minutes. He has scored three goals in less than 700 Premier League minutes – it took Rasmus Højlund over 1,000 minutes before he broke his Premier League duck for United in December 2023.

United may need to make a tough decision, however, considering their financial position and the fact Zirkzee is one of few United players to have obvious suiters.
