Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho has been handed a huge double blow ahead of their Europa League clash against Manchester United.

Manchester United will resume their Europa League campaign on Thursday evening with an away trip to Fenerbahce for their third group stage match.

United’s performance in the competition has been lacklustre so far, with back-to-back draws against FC Twente and FC Porto.

Along with some mixed form in the Premier League, this start to the season has drawn widespread criticism of Erik ten Hag’s management.

However, United showed resilience at Old Trafford on the weekend, mounting a strong second-half comeback to defeat Brentford.

The away clash in Turkey this week will also see a reunion with former United manager Jose Mourinho, and ex-players Fred and Sofyan Amrabat.

Ahead of the European fixture, Mourinho has faced a double injury blow following his team’s league action on the weekend.

Jayden Oosterwolde was forced off with an issue in their 2-2 draw against Samsunspor, while Cengiz Under missed the clash with a groin problem sustained in training.

The Turkish club has since confirmed that both players will be unavailable for the United clash, with Oosterwolde facing a long time on the sidelines with an ACL rupture.

Under’s issue is a partial groin tear, which is not as serious but will still keep him out of action for a number of weeks.

“MRI scans were performed at Altunizade Hospital and a partial tear was detected in the right groin muscle tendon junction of our players, Cengiz Ünder, and a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in the left knee of Jayden Oosterwolde. The treatment and rehabilitation process of our players has begun,” Fenerbahce wrote in a statement.

The game on Thursday kicks off at 20:00 BST, with the full details about how to watch the fixture available here.
