Jarrad Branthwaite breaks silence on future after Manchester United signed Leny Yoro
Jarrad Branthwaite has broken his silence on his Everton future following Manchester United’s signing of Leny Yoro.
Branthwaite, 21, has been a main target for INEOS and United this summer, and they have had two bids for the defender rejected so far.
They recently turned their attention to Yoro, who seemed Real Madrid-bound, and managed to convince him of a move to Old Trafford.
Reports have claimed that United are still interested in both Matthijs de Ligt and Branthwaite but needs sales in order to move forward with either deal.
Yet, a deal for the Everton defender looks even more complimented after they sold Amadou Onana to Aston Villa in a £50 million deal.
The 21-year-old centre-back has broken his silence on next season, now that it is looking likely that he remains at Goodison Park, as well as his England future.
“I think last season, playing all the games I did helped me put performances in and get the experience I needed. I’m going to take that into this season and keep learning,” Branthwaite told the Everton media team.
“I think for any young person, any young player, it’s about playing as many games as you can and that gives you the experience you need.
“You can only get experience in games and taking that into each game that I’ve done last season. It helped me massively to put in the performances which I did.
‘I think you’ve got to be confident in your ability, but it’s the best league in the world. It’s got the best players and it’s obviously the most difficult league in the world, so you know the expectations you’re going to have.
Speaking on his Three Lions future, he added: “I want to play for England as many times as I can. It’s about putting in performances for club out there for whoever the next England manager is going to be, and to impress them. Hopefully, I get many more opportunities.”
