Manchester United look like they will finally be able to permanently part ways with Jadon Sancho next year and he is already searching for his next destination.
Jadon Sancho left Manchester United for a third consecutive loan move during the summer window, joining Aston Villa for the 2025/26 campaign.
After spending previous loans at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, he rejected permanent transfers to multiple Italian clubs, opting again for a temporary deal.
Sancho consulted Marcus Rashford before finalising the move to Villa Park, as Rashford had worked with Unai Emery during a loan spell in the second half of last season.
A return to Old Trafford was never realistic, with Ruben Amorim making it clear that Sancho was no longer part of his long-term plans.
Up to now, Sancho has made eight appearances for Villa but just three of those have come from the starting eleven.
Sancho’s camp has ‘discreet’ talks with three European clubs
Sancho’s early struggles at Villa suggest that it is probably not the place that he will move to permanently once his United contract expires next summer.
The winger is still likely to look for a large wage packet and the latest reports claim that his agents have spoken to some of the big clubs in Turkey.
According to CaughtOffside, Sancho recently travelled to Istanbul to hold ‘discreet but meaningful’ talks with Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Beşiktaş.
It was also claimed that it is possible that Sancho cuts his loan at Villa short and moves to Turkey permanently in January. That scenario would allow United to receive a minimal fee for the player rather than him leaving for free.
Sancho’s agents will likely be speaking to more clubs across Europe in the coming months. He has previously received interest from teams in Germany and Italy.
Sancho needs change of league
Sancho is a superbly technically gifted footballer but he simply doesn’t have the power or intensity to shine in the Premier League. That was evident at United, Chelsea and now Villa.
It is strange how he opted against moving to the Serie A in the summer. The style of the Italian league would suit his strengths much more.
We are seeing how much a change in league can impact performances with Antony, who is now shining at Real Betis where he has more time on the ball.
A similar story could happen with Sancho if he chooses the right destination, although if he has another underwhelming season, there might not be many top clubs offering him the wages he desires.
