Jadon Sancho’s agent and his demands are standing in the way of his potential Manchester United exit this summer.
Manchester United fans have been waiting for Jadon Sancho’s exit for the last two years, and there are still no guarantees that it is going to happen this summer.
It seemed quite embarrassing that Chelsea opted to pay a £5 million fee to United to avoid signing Sancho permanently after his loan spell at Stamford Bridge.
Soon afterwards, the reason for that deal breaking down became clear. Sancho and his agents could not reach an agreement on personal terms with the London-based club.
Since then, various clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia have registered interest in Sancho but none have been able to reach his demands so far.
United agreed a £20 million deal with AS Roma recently for the sale of Sancho but the difficulties on personal terms are extremely difficult for them.
Sancho: Agent commission demands revealed
According to Corriere dello Sport, Sancho has made it clear that he wants £5.6 million per year in wages after tax, which is around £108,000-a-week to bring home.
Roma are willing to match those demands through offering bonuses on top of a £4.75 million-a-year contract.
But the problem in the deal is that Sancho’s entourage are demanding £8.6 million in commission for a deal. The aforementioned report claims that the deal would only be able to go through if United provide a ‘substantial severance package’ to help Roma reach this figure.
Whether this deal happens remains to be seen, but it seems like Sancho’s wages are only half of the problem for clubs, with his agents also wanting a significant piece of the pie.
Sancho’s situation is sad
United fans are furious with Sancho but when you take a step back from the situation, it is much more sad when you look at how his career has transpired.
Once rated as one of the best talents in Europe, he is now a forgotten player who is clearly not confident enough to take a risk.

United are not completely innocent in his downfall but much of the blame has to come with the player, who has seemed to lack the drive and determination to succeed ever since he arrived at Old Trafford.
Perhaps he can turn his career around. He is only 25. But it seems like he might be about to waste another season on loan, where his long-term future remains in doubt.
