“It’s really important…” Bryan Mbeumo agrees with Rúben Amorim on his next step at Manchester United

Bryan Mbeumo has agreed on a very important aspect of the next few weeks after completing his £65 million move to Manchester United.

Manchester United have completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, marking their third acquisition of the summer as Rúben Amorim continues to strengthen the attack.

Despite Mbeumo signalling his desire to join early in the window, it took United six weeks to reach a deal with Brentford, eventually agreeing on a £65 million fee with an additional £6 million in performance-related bonuses.

The 25-year-old becomes the latest arrival at Carrington, following South American pair Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon.

Mbeumo is expected to slot in as United’s new starting right forward, while Amad is set to begin the campaign in a wing-back role, using pre-season to build connections with the rest of the squad.

Mbeumo agrees with Amorim’s pre-season plan

With Cunha and Diego Leon through the door for the first day of pre-season, it was widely reported in the media that Amorim had demanded that his third summer signing be able to make it to the United States with the remainder of the squad.

Amorim is well known to see it as absolutely vital that Mbeumo has a few weeks with his new teammates and understands his new demands, as the longer he has with the side on pre-season, the quicker he can get to establishing links with his teammates.

When speaking with the club for the first time since his signing, Mbeumo was asked how much he values being able to head to the United States with his teammates this week.

“It’s really important for me,” he explained. “It’s important to create links as soon as possible, automatism as well as the teammates, in and out of the pitch.

“The spirit is really important, to create a group, so being involved as soon as possible for me is really important.”

Mbeumo has already shown himself to be a selfless player

Amorim’s 3-4-3 system at United requires a high level of unity among his players, which is why he views pre-season as a vital part of his preparations for the upcoming season. The head coach needs time on the training ground with his players.

For the first time, Amorim will have around six weeks with his squad behind closed doors as he looks to train them, and with Mbeumo, he has a ready-made selfless but brilliant player at his disposal.

Bruno Fernandes has shown himself to be a model player under the Portugeusu manager, as although he maintains a high output, he is a team-first player who is willing to make himself a platform to raise the level of others.

Mbeumo became one half of a famous duo at Brentford last campaign, with his partner in crime Yoane Wissa flying alongside the Cameroon international as the other part of a deadly Premier League duo.

The 25-year-old has proven at Brentford that he is similar to Fernandes in that he knows his quality is vital to his team, but is also willing to allow others to shine through – a trait AMorim will appreciate.
