Louis Saha believes that there is a huge problem at Manchester United which is difficult for Ruben Amorim to fix alone.

Ruben Amorim has been dealt a poor hand at Manchester United since taking charge and is struggling to turn things around.

United are currently sitting 15th in the Premier League table and unable to find any sort of stability in their form.

After 21 matches in charge, Amorim has seen his team win only 10 of them. Two have ended in draws and they have lost nine games.

There are many problems that the Portuguese head coach needs to try and solve in the coming months to improve the situation at Old Trafford.

Saha explains huge United problem

Former United striker Louis Saha was part of an extremely successful dressing room during his time with the club.

The Frenchman recognises that while there are tactical and more in-depth issues, there is an “obvious” problem with the current squad.

Saha believes that United’s players are “way too short in confidence” at the moment and that is a huge problem for Amorim.

The 46-year-old claims that it has to be the players who change this by having the correct approach and mentality in every game no matter the hurdles.

“When I see the squad, it’s obvious that it’s way too short in confidence and lacks a bit in quality,” Saha told bestbettingsites.

“Quality is about confidence, so it’s about knowing where you’re going, knowing that nobody can defend against you. None of that is there at the moment.

“It’s obvious that we can’t consider finishing in the top six at the moment. You have to be humble and work hard.

“The players need to understand that to help Amorim, they need to be confident and show that ability to work with the right approach in every game, to be mentally strong and show that they want to work hard.”

Amorim needs to find consistency at United

There are many games remaining this season and people might remember that there was little hope for the team last term before they went onto win the FA Cup.

Still in two of the cup competitions, Amorim’s side could easily make this season end on a positive note but the confidence of the players has to improve.

Amorim can help that himself. Platforming players by finding their best roles in the system can help any player improve and build confidence.

While you do not want him to strip away his system, the Portuguese coach will undoubtably be debating ways to make small adjustments to help the current squad.

United have been unable to find any rhythm throughout the entire campaign so far. Whatever the head coach decides to do, he will have to hope it is able to kickstart a positive run of form, because confidence also comes from winning games, and United haven’t done enough of that.
