Manchester United star Casemiro has revealed a secret trait possessed by Matheus Cunha that the Red Devils fans are not yet aware of.
Manchester United’s 2025/26 Premier League campaign kicked off on Sunday as the Red Devils hosted Arsenal in an agonising 1-0 defeat.
Ruben Amorim’s side displayed a lot of positive signs despite the negative result, and were unlucky not to take anything from the match’s proceedings.
A couple of the key silver linings from the Red Devils’ defeat to last season’s runners-up were the new acquisitions, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, who both impressed the fans on their debuts.
Despite not having scored for the club yet, everyone involved with United seems to be singing the praises of their new Brazilian. Casemiro opened up about what makes his national teammate so ‘incredible’.
Casemiro reveals all on ‘quality’ Cunha
In a recent interview with the club’s media, Casemiro was asked about fellow Brazilian Cunha and what he can bring to the United side, to which he said:
“I already knew Matheus for a long time because we played together in the national team. I also played against him when he was at Atletico Madrid and Wolves. So I know him very well, I know the quality that he has.
“He has already demonstrated in the Premier League that he’s a great player. And now, he plays in one of the biggest teams in England. I’m sure that he’ll do well because he’s a great player.
“He’s a young player with a lot of ambition. And well, I’m sure he’s going to be really important for us, not just for scoring goals. But also, the quality he has in many ways will carry us in the attacking third.”
Cunha’s ‘important’ trait
Clearly, the five-time Champions League winner has a lot of respect for his new teammate on the pitch, but Casemiro also went on to explain how important Cunha is off the pitch as well.
He said, “He is an incredible person. For me, what I value and what I like to speak about with these people is the personal side. Because ultimately, everyone in the world knows what Cunha is: a fantastic player. But he’s also a great person.
“It’s a pleasure to share the dressing room with him. I knew him from the national team, and he has a lot of happiness; he transmits a lot of joy.

“It’s important not only on the pitch, but also off it, within the dressing room. Always with a big smile.
“Always wanting to dance, to joke with the people, but also he knows when to be serious, but it’s important to have people with this attitude in the dressing room.”
Amorim’s new Brazilian maestro is evidently valued both for his on and off the pitch traits, and the United fans will be eagerly awaiting his first goal as a Red.
