Incredible Ruben Amorim fact emerges which will excite Manchester United starlets
An incredible fact about Manchester United’s new head coach Ruben Amorim has emerged which will undoubtably excite starlets within the club.
Ruben Amorim started his role at Manchester United last week and will be keen to play Ipswich Town this weekend in his first Premier League game.
The Reds decided that he was the best man to take the club forward after Erik ten Hag was sacked for a dreadful start to the season.
It is well known that Amorim has been open to using the Academy at Sporting over his four year tenure.
However, it is even more impressive when you know how many youth players he did give opportunities to in Portugal.
UnitedInFocus has detailed that Amorim offered 27 first-team debuts to youth players across his tenure in the Liga Portugal.
This includes current Sporting stars like Goncalo Inacio and Geovany Quenda as well as departed stars such as Paris Saint-Germain’s Nuno Mendes or Mateus Fernandes of Southampton.
It almost seems like an incredible coincidence that the 39-year-old boss is walking into another club with an outstanding Academy that is brimming with talent.
After winning the Treble last term, United’s under-18s remain unbeaten in the league so far this season with 43 goals scored and just four conceded in nine games.
That team includes the likes of Chido Obi-Martin, James Scanlon and Jayce Fitzgerald while talents such as Sekou Kone and Jack Fletcher are impressing in the under-21s.
They will all be excited to hear about Amorim’s openness to using the talent within the club but he will also not push them through if he doesn’t think they’re truly ready for the first-team.
“I don’t want to say that we need time because we are a young team. They are prepared,” he said during his first interview at Old Trafford.
“They are prepared to cope with the demands of playing for Manchester United – they should be because they are here.”
