Fulham manager Marco Silva has sent a huge compliment to one Manchester United star ahead of their Premier League clash at Craven Cottage this weekend.
Manchester United are now shifting their focus to their second Premier League fixture of the season, a trip to face Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
Ruben Amorim’s side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford in their opening match, despite an encouraging display that highlighted plenty of positives from pre-season.
However, against Fulham, United will need to turn promise into points, with victory essential to getting their campaign up and running.
Marco Silva and his team scored a last-gasp equaliser against Brighton on the opening weekend and will have the same hopes as United heading into this game; that they can secure their first win of the campaign.
Fulham boss Silva sends huge compliment to one United star
Speaking ahead of the game, Fulham boss Silva was asked about the upcoming opponents and he assured reporters that he is ready to face a ‘great side’.
United have bolstered their frontline with the signings of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Šeško and it is the Slovenian striker who Silva was full of compliments for.
He explained how Šeško was a player who was clearly in demand across Europe and added that United will make sure that the game is ‘demanding’ for the hosts.
“We are playing against a great side. I know last season is not the way they wanted,” Silva said when asked about the Reds.
“This season, they have spent heavily in the market and signed a striker that all in the market were looking for in Europe. For us, it is a very important and it is going to be a very demanding Premier League game.”
Šeško likely to come into United XI
United fans only got a small taste of what Šeško has to offer on his debut last weekend as he came off the bench in the second half.
Barring a few half-chances, he was not able to showcase his game and will be hoping that changes this time around, with calls to start the striker.
It seems likely that Amorim will give the 22-year-old his first start even though the frontline last time out all had solid games.
Despite his good form, Mason Mount will likely come out of the team for Šeško, while Cunha and Mbeumo continue in those wide no.10 roles after excellent displays against Arsenal.
United fans will be hoping that they do not only come away with a win, but also a first goal for at least one of those attacking stars.
