Ruben Amorim has revealed one key similarity between Benjamin Šeško and Manchester United loanee Rasmus Højlund.
Manchester United decided to replace Rasmus Højlund as the club’s main striker in the summer, with Benjamin Šeško joining the club.
Højlund has been sent on loan to Napoli, where he has started well, and Šeško scored his first goal for the Reds last weekend.
The two players are both inexperienced strikers who joined Old Trafford for large transfer fees but United fans will be hoping Šeško deals with the pressure better than the Dane.
Ruben Amorim has been pleased with Šeško so far and has even suggested that there is an ‘important’ similarity between the two strikers.
Amorim reveals key similarity between Šeško and Højlund
Šeško will be hoping to build on his first goal when United face Sunderland this weekend and Amorim explained how the striker was ‘anxious’ to score for the club.
But the Portuguese boss has explained that the ‘most important’ attribute Šeško has shown is the hard work he provides on the pitch even when the team are finding it difficult to provide him with chances.
“Of course, he was anxious for his first goal,” Amorim told club media when asked about Šeško.
“The thing I like most in Ben is, even when things are hard for him with the ball, he is working hard in every minute of the game. That is the most important thing in the moment.”
This is also something Amorim regularly praised Højlund for last season when he was struggling for goals.
“The way he runs, he fights for every ball, he loses a lot of duels, wins some duels, he needs to improve the connection but he is improving, so I’m really happy with him. He just needs to continue to work hard and better days will come,” the United boss said of Højlund in May.
Šeško needs to build on first goal
While you need a striker to work hard, they will always be judged by their goalscoring and that is why Højlund was sent out on loan.
Šeško has shown that he can hold his own when dropping deeper and linking play, while his ability in the air also seems like a weapon that United can take advantage of.

But he needs to get on the scoresheet regularly to build confidence and he will be eyeing this Sunderland clash as the perfect chance to do that.
If he can find his form in the final third, while still offering the hard work Amorim wants, then Šeško will become a fan-favourite at Old Trafford.
