“If you want…” Bryan Mbeumo warned he has huge decision to make despite already agreeing Man Utd transfer

Bryan Mbeumo has been sent a warning about a huge decision he has to make despite already agreeing to join Manchester United this summer.

Manchester United have made a strong start to the summer transfer window, finalising a deal for Matheus Cunha from Wolves and launching an initial bid for Bryan Mbeumo.

In another positive development, club captain Bruno Fernandes has confirmed his commitment to Old Trafford, turning down a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

With Cunha secured and Fernandes staying put, United have shifted their attention to Mbeumo, who is reportedly eager to link up with Ruben Amorim’s squad.

The Red Devils tabled an opening offer of £45 million plus £10 million in performance-based add-ons for the Cameroon international, but Brentford swiftly rejected the proposal.

Reports suggest that United are preparing a second bid totalling £60 million, though there is no indication yet that this improved offer has been formally submitted.

Mbeumo warned about huge decision despite United agreement

Despite having already agreed to joining United, and telling other suitors his preference, Mbeumo has been told by a former United player to avoid the club.

Ex-goalkeeper Ben Foster made 23 appearances for United and has now turned to YouTube after retiring from the sport. He believes Mbeumo would be better suited to joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Foster states that United’s ‘last couple years of failures’ is a red flag and that the Brentford forward would ‘be part of something’ in North London.

“If you want to be part of something that’s going to make you probably a better footballer and work hard, be part of a team, then go to Spurs with Thomas Frank,” the retired goalkeeper said on his channel.

“If you are happy picking up your wages knowing that there’s going to be an awful lot more pressure, a lot more eyes on you, judgment, but with their record in the last couple of years of failures, then go to Manchester United.”

Foster’s comments are interesting

Foster’s transition into the media has certainly been interesting to watch but we are also seeing a real-time example of someone learning how to copy the sensationalism across the sport.

It is interesting to note that these claims only came after echoing false reports about Mbeumo’s reported wage at Old Trafford to his subscribers.

Of course, Foster also pointed out to Mbeumo that there would be ‘an awful lot more pressure’ on him at United – for top players, that is a desire. Why would you not want pressure?

United have not been good enough over recent years but they have still won more trophies than most clubs in that period, but the good news never gets as many clicks in the media.
