“I wish…” Arsenal icon is desperate to sign Manchester United superstar amid ‘strong’ temptation claim

One of Arsenal’s most iconic players came out and stated how much he would love to bring Manchester United superstar to the Emirates amid ‘strong temptation’ report.

After an incredibly poor Premier League campaign, Manchester United will have a job on their hands in the summer if they are to keep hold of their star players.

With their entire season riding on their upcoming Europa League final, this fixture will be detrimental to the business that Ruben Amorim’s side are able to conduct in the summer window.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright admitted his admiration for one of United’s superstars on a recent episode of The Overlap, as his side look to recruit well in their chase for silverware.

Looking likely to secure second place for the third consecutive season, it is clear that the Gunners are desperate for a couple of ceiling raisers to finally get them over the line.

Ian Wright wants Fernandes at Arsenal this summer

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Wirght admitted: “I wish we had Bruno Fernandes. I wish we had Bruno. I would love to have him at Arsenal.”

This may seem like a far-fetched dream for Mikel Arteta’s side. However, it has been reported in Spain that the Portuguese midfielder is worried ‘greatly’ about missing out on European football next summer if the club fail to secure Champions League football next season.

In addition, the same report states that there is a ‘strong’ temptation for the midfield juggernaut to accept a humongous Saudi payday, with rumours of a three-year deal with £195 million on the table.

If United are unsuccessful in their Europa League final, it could spell trouble for a tricky summer as they look to keep their key player happy.

Could Fernandes be on the move?

With the above report claiming that Fernandes might not be all in at United anymore, as he feels like the project is stagnating, and a summer move could be on the cards.

Fernandes would offer a lot to any of Europe’s top sides. The 30-year-old has scored 62 goals and 50 assists in his 194 Premier League games.

Despite United’s poor campaign in the domestic league, Fernandes has still managed to contribute to 17 goals in 35 games, whilst his side sits in 16th.

Although he has now hit the 30-year-old barrier, the Portuguese Magnifico is showing no signs of slowing down as he looks to continue to build on what has been a standout season for the player despite United’s poor form.
