Ruben Amorim has provided an update on Leny Yoro after he suffered injury against West Ham in the latest Manchester United loss.
Manchester United lost 2-0 against West Ham on Sunday afternoon in another terrible Premier League match for the Reds.
With the Europa League final in just 10 days, Ruben Amorim would have been praying to walk away from this game without any injury issues.
There looked to be an issue with Rasmus Hojlund in the first half as he was holding his shoulder, but the United forward was fine in the end.
But it was early in the second half when Amorim was left with his hands over his face after Leny Yoro fell to the floor with the ball no where near him.
The 19-year-old defender was forced off the pitch and replaced by Harry Maguire. He looked emotional as he limped towards the Old Trafford tunnel.
United fans have been extremely worried about the incident as the French defender has arguably been one of the club’s best players in the last few months.
Amorim provides Yoro injury update
It was concerning that Yoro’s issue seemed to happen off-the-ball and Amorim’s face painted the picture. The United boss looked extremely concerned and also brought off Luke Shaw at the same time as Yoro.
The English left-back may be the man to come into the team if Yoro is not fit to start in the Europa League final later this month.
After the game, Amorim provided an update on Yoro’s situation on MUTV, saying: “We have to assess Leny in a better way tomorrow, he felt something but I think it could be a small thing.”
Yoro was spotted leaving Old Trafford without a protective boot or crutches, but he was still walking with a clear limp.
There will be tests to come to determine the seriousness of the injury. Amorim will not speak to the media until next Friday when he conducts his pre-Chelsea press conference.
Spurs also suffer injury concern
Yoro’s injury was not the only one on Sunday afternoon which may impact the upcoming Europa League final.
Dejan Kulusevski came off injured in the first half of Spurs’ defeat against Crystal Palace, which is a creative blow to United’s upcoming opposition.
James Maddison is already ruled out of the final and Kulusevski would have been considered the best player to take on his responsibilities.
United and Spurs both seem to be heading into the final with the worst potential form but the result of that game can turn things around for the winner.
