Ruben Amorim has made three changes to his Manchester United lineup to face Brighton in their Premier League clash this afternoon.

The Reds host Brighton at Old Trafford as Ruben Amorim’s side look to build some momentum in the Premier League.

After drawing against Liverpool at Anfield, United have won games against Arsenal in the FA Cup and Southampton in the league.

But there are still question marks over whether the team can produce the levels of consistency needed to improve their position in the table.

United currently sit 13th in the standings and are yet to win consecutive league fixtures this season.

Brighton will provide a difficult opponent but are currently not in the best of form, with Fabian Hürzeler’s side winning just once in their last five league games.

Amorim explains triple United change vs Brighton

Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot and Joshua Zirkzee have all come into the team as Amorim made three changes from the team which beat Southampton.

Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Højlund and Lisandro Martínez have dropped to the bench and the head coach has explained the need for rotation after a tough couple of weeks for the team.

“We have to rotate some players with this kind of schedule,” the 39-year-old told club media ahead of kick-off.

“Don’t forget we played an hour with one less player for 120 minutes [against Arsenal last weekend]. I needed to make some changes, but everyone is ready.”

Fans had been calling for Zirkzee to start this game after his positive contributions off the bench against Southampton, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Amorim shows trust in Yoro

Leny Yoro had a difficult game last time out, with Saints winger Kamaldeen Sulemana getting the best of him, but Amorim has kept trust with the Frenchman in this game.

It would have been very easy for the boss to decide to take the teenager out of the team but it feels like he needs another game to find that confidence.

After several promising displays since his return from injury, Southampton felt like an outlier and he now gets the opportunity to prove Amorim right in trusting him.

He will likely be on the left side of the back three this time, with Martínez coming out of the team for the first time since United lost to Arsenal in the Premier League in early December.
