“I can see…” Chris Sutton predicts Brentford vs Man Utd result as the two key dangermen highlighted

Chris Sutton has predicted that two Brentford dangermen could cause problems for Rúben Amorim as Manchester United face Thomas Frank’s side on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Sunday as they travel to Brentford for a clash in West London.

Rúben Amorim’s side head into the match full of confidence after a commanding 3-0 win over Athletic Club in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final, with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes getting on the scoresheet.

However, their league form tells a different story—United are without a win in their last five Premier League games and slipping further off the pace.

With the second leg against Athletic coming up at Old Trafford on Thursday, Amorim is expected to rotate his squad heavily, resting key players and offering valuable minutes to several Academy graduates.

Sutton warns Amorim about two Brentford dangermen

As always, Chris Sutton has issued his predictions for the weekend’s Premier League fixtures for BBC Sport, with the former Chelsea striker explaining that, amid United’s possible changes, Amorim’s men may find duo Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa too hot to handle.

“We know Manchester United are going to make changes here, because seeing out the second leg of their Europa League semi-final with Athletic Bilbao is their priority,” Sutton said.

“Rúben Amorim’s side nicked a point at the very end of their game at Bournemouth last weekend, which sparked mass celebrations, but I really don’t see them doing the same against Brentford – they won’t be getting the bunting out this time.

“The Bees are such a dangerous team when they come forward, and they will keep on attacking United. Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa should get plenty of chances, and I can see them getting a goal or two between them.”

Sutton then went on to state that he feels the fixture will end in a 2-0 victory for the home team.

Amorim hints at changes to his starting XI

Amid the rumours that United are planning to make a number of changes, Amorim explained during his pre-match press conference that he will be taking into account injury prevention when selecting his team.

“The first thing is that the players who are in risk to get injury will not play,” said Amorim. “No matter what. We need to take a risk in [doing] that. And then we are going to assess tomorrow [Friday] and the next day, who are the best players to start the game.

“Then we have to be careful because we are Manchester United and we cannot go to a game without thinking we can win this game. So the process is going to be like that. It’s going to be tough, but we pass so many things this year. It’s one more. Let’s see.”

Further, he confirmed that Noussair Mazraoui is one player who will not be taking part in the Brentford tie.

“There are some positions that we don’t have more players,” Amorim continued. “For example, Nous Mazraoui cannot play. He’s in the limit to get an injury. So we are going to deal with that and prepare a game against a team that they won today and is in a great moment.”
