Manchester United are set to resume their Europa League campaign on Thursday evening, hosting Rangers at Old Trafford.

The start of 2025 has been a mixed bag for Manchester United. A hard-earned draw against Liverpool was followed by an impressive victory over Arsenal.

However, victory against Southampton was largely due to Amad’s brilliant hat-trick late on and United were then punished against Brighton, losing 3-1 at Old Trafford.

The clash against Rangers is yet another game that United should be winning. These are the type of matchups Amorim will want his team to keep having.

United are currently in the top eight of the Europa League table, a position that would guarantee them automatic qualification to the knockout stages.

Amorim does not want his side to drop any lower and risk the chance of playing two extra play-off fixtures in a period where United rarely have time to train mid-week.

Ahead of the European clash, UtdDistrict have provided all of the details you need to watch United vs Rangers.

United vs Rangers: Kick-off time and venue

This European fixture will come on Thursday, 23 January with kick-off at 20:00 GMT.

United host the Scottish outfit at Old Trafford in this clash, playing their third game in a row at Old Trafford.

While the club’s form at home has certainly been patchy this season, the Reds have won two of their three home games in the Europa League, with the third being a draw.

United vs Rangers: Latest team news

Luke Shaw is set to return to training at Carrington at the end of the week but will not be back available for this game. The same applies to Mason Mount.

Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelöf are also unavailable for the game through injury.

Meanwhile, Brazilian winger Antony may not be involved, with the 24-year-old on the verge of completing a loan move to Spanish side Real Betis.

That could mean a return to the squad for Marcus Rashford, who has not played a game for the club since their last Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen in early December.

Godwill Kukonki may also be involved on the bench for Amorim’s side after being replaced at half-time in the Under-21s’ Premier League International Cup defeat to Nordsjælland on Tuesday evening.
