How serious Antony’s injury is for Manchester United vs Wigan
Antony missed Manchester United’s FA Cup win against Wigan Athletic as Erik ten Hag fielded his first XI of 2024.
Manchester United took on Wigan Athletic for their first game of 2024 as Erik ten Hag‘s secured a 2-0 victory in the third round of the FA Cup.
Despite the strong XI being fielded for the game, United are were without Antony, Amad Diallo, and Christian Eriksen, with the latter two being ill.

There has been an illness going around the squad in the last few weeks, with Rasmus Højlund, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford also all missing games of late due to illness.
Antony, though, was confirmed as injured, although it has been said that his injury is only “minor”.
This is according to the Telegraph, who imply that the injury is not too serious, with the player therefore hopefully back for the next game.
United are next set to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, marking the first Old Trafford fixture of 2024.
Even if Antony is fit to return, he may find himself sitting on the bench after Alejandro Garnacho put in yet another good performance from the right wing.
