How much Man Utd are willing to pay Kobbie Mainoo as club working on extending three contracts

Manchester United have been locked in negotiates with Kobbie Mainoo’s representatives over the possibility of the midfielder extending his contract at Old Trafford.

Kobbie Mainoo emerged into the Manchester United first-team in November 2023 after making his full Premier League debut against Everton at Goodison Park.

After a brilliant performance the teenager, Erik ten Hag soon began to rely on him as one of the club’s most important players.

Mainoo scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final last term and also appeared for England at Euro 2024, where he was one of the standout players for the finalists.

Since then, there have been regular rumours about Mainoo’s contract situation but no serious developments have been made.

The youngster still has multiple years on his current deal but the plan is to secure him to a new long-term deal with wages that reflect his new role at the club.

How much United are willing to pay Mainoo

There have been so many rumours surrounding Mainoo’s contract situation, including wage demands. Some reports have said that the player’s representatives are asking for £180,000-per-week.

That has been dismissed by other reporters, including Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic.

Fresh information from GiveMeSport has claimed that both parties involved are keen to find a solution and that United are willing to present an offer in excess of £100,000-a-week.

The Reds want to put Mainoo’s earnings in line with what Amad is bringing home after signing new terms earlier this year. The Ivorian is reportedly on £120,000-a-week.

Despite all of the noise, it seems like the most likely outcome is that Mainoo renews at Old Trafford. He is currently on less than £30,000-a-week .

United working on three contract renewals

Alongside their efforts to see Mainoo put pen-to-paper on fresh terms, United are also planning to offer professional contracts to two more exciting Academy starlets.

Godwill Kukonki was among the first young talents to catch Amorim’s eye at United. The 17-year-old defender, who featured in several matchday squads under the Portuguese coach, has been developing in the youth ranks and continues to impress.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United plan to reward Kukonki with his first professional contract soon.

He’s not alone—Bendito Mantato is also set to sign professional terms, as reported by AcademyScoop. Amorim is eager to hand the 17-year-old his first-team debut before the season ends.

Fabrizio Romano added that Jason Wilcox has played a key role in Mantato’s deal, which will run until June 2029, with Amorim being a big admirer of the youngster.
