How much Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha will earn at Manchester United after £250k-a-week claim rubbished

The earnings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha at Manchester United have been revealed amid claims of a £ 250,000-a-week contract.

Manchester United are nearing their second signing of the summer as they close in on the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Rúben Amorim is keen to bring in the Cameroon international as a further addition to his front line after securing Matheus Cunha, but the negotiations have not been easy.

United submitted a bid worth a total of £55 million to Brentford for the 25-year-old at the beginning of June, but this was rejected. After two weeks of negotiations, a second bid worth over £60 million was submitted earlier this week.

Mbeumo’s pending arrival follows the signing of Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month, who joined for a £62.5 million fee. United are still keen to add a striker and midfielder to their ranks before the window closes.

Mbeumo and Cunha’s real United wages revealed

In the past, when United have spent big on attacking players, they have often handed said players very lucrative wage packages. This has made it hard to move the player on if the transfer does not work out, with Jadon Sancho a prime example.

Therefore, when rumours surfaced that Mbeumo was set to be handed a contract worth £250,000 a week at Old Trafford, with Cunha’s deal set at £200,000 a week, this was scoffed at, worrying United fans that the club had not learned their lesson.

However, a report from The Guardian has now quashed this, stating that both players’ wages are instead worth at least £150,000 a week each, far below the previously speculated salaries.

It is likely that both contracts also include the standard goal and Champions League bonuses that would see the contract head toward £200,000 a week if they perform well.

Ferdinand is over the moon with United’s Mbeumo move

While the move is not yet complete, it would take a rather spectacular turn of events for Mbeumo not to end up within Amorim’s ranks at some point this summer.

The winger had an outstanding Premier League campaign last season, notching 20 goals and providing eight assists across 38 appearances in the competition.

“Mbeumo wants to come, I know it,” former United defender Rio Ferdinand said last week before launching into a significant amount of praise for the player.

“His stats over the last three seasons in the Premier League are up there, by the way. Goals and assists, goal chances, ridiculous. Again, another proven Premier League player.

“This is what I like, [playing] in the Premier League. There isn’t no adjustment business. The only thing there will be [is an] adjustment because of the size of the club.

“They don’t have to do that when they go to Arsenal. There isn’t that pressure, the badge isn’t as heavy. It’s heavy, but it’s not as heavy.”
