Christopher Vivell has already explained three reasons why Benjamin Sesko can fit into Ruben Amorim’s system at Manchester United.
Manchester United have added Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to their ranks in a bid to address the attacking problems that hampered them throughout last season at Old Trafford.
The duo scored a combined 35 goals in the Premier League last season, yet Ruben Amorim is still eager to recruit a natural centre-forward to complete his front line.
Rasmus Højlund has struggled for consistency since arriving at the club and may depart this summer, while Joshua Zirkzee is often viewed as more effective in a deeper, No.10 role.
After missing out on both Liam Delap and Viktor Gyökeres, United are now considering a move for Benjamin Sesko; a long-standing target who has been on the club’s radar for several years.
Sesko, 22, enjoyed a standout campaign last season, scoring 21 goals and registering six assists, cementing his status as one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards.
The renewed interest comes as no surprise, especially following the appointment of Christopher Vivell, formerly of the Red Bull setup, to a key recruitment role at Old Trafford.
Vivell explains three reasons why Sesko can fit Amorim’s system
Vivell has played a key role in Sesko’s career to date and was heavily involved in bringing him to RB Salzburg when he was just 16 years of age.
It has been reported by Fabrizio Romano that the United director is ‘driving’ the club’s interest in Sesko this summer and he has already explained some of his standout attributes.
Vivell described the 22-year-old as ‘extremely quick’, which is something needed for the striker in Amorim’s system. He also explained that he has a great jump and is strong in the air.
Those attributes would be very useful to win second balls and attack the area when players like Mbeumo or Patrick Dorgu have the ball.
“Benjamin Sesko is among the game’s top young talents and has enormous potential to become a top player. He has all the qualities to do that,” Vivell previously told the Bundesliga website.
“He’s extremely quick, has a great jump on him and is strong in the air. Benjamin is a real goalscorer, who despite his 1.95m, he is mobile and technically strong.
“His abilities make him a special player with a special profile.”
United interested in Sesko and Watkins
When Vivell came in at Old Trafford, it seemed like a potential move for Sesko was always going to be on the cards and now it looks like a realistic move.
Reports are claiming that United have Sesko and Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins as their two main options heading into the final month of the window.
They are in very different situations as players. For example, Watkins is a very experienced player and is Premier League proven whereas Sesko is still developing but has a very high ceiling he can reach.

If the Reds had not signed Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee in the last few years then most fans would probably prefer to sign Sesko but there are question marks over the lack of experience because of those deals.
Vivell clearly thinks he would be a very good signing though, and it could be one that he helps make happen this summer.
