One Manchester United legend has given Ruben Amorim the perfect message about Amad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Manchester United are aiming to bounce back from a disappointing season, but Amad was one of the few bright spots amid the struggles.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a true breakthrough year at Old Trafford, emerging as a key figure in Ruben Amorim’s system.
Whether deployed in the frontline or at right wing-back, Amad delivered consistently strong performances and contributed effectively in the final third.
Despite missing several months due to injury, the left-footed forward still managed to tally an impressive 11 goals and 10 assists over the course of the campaign.
How Amad will hand Amorim huge boost next season
United are planning to bolster their frontline this summer and the potential signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford could impact Amad’s role in the team.
The Ivorian is much more likely to be consistently deployed as the right wingback in Amorim’s system, with Mbeumo playing just ahead of him.
While some have suggested that Amad might not be best please with this, United legend Louis Saha has assured Amorim that the 22-year-old will play anywhere for the team.
“Nooo! No! No! If there are one or two players who should not leave, it is him and Bruno Fernandes,” Saha told Express Sport when asked about the subject.
“He is the kind of player who does not care where he plays. He has said it himself; he will play as a left-back or centre-back – he will just play.”
Saha criticises other United stars
While the Frenchman was full of praise for Amad’s attitude, Saha also suggested that others in the United dressing room would not have the same mentality.
He continued: “Some other players will say, ‘I want to play there’ or ‘I should be playing [in] this [position]’. Those players should shut up. Why? Because the result that we had last year is ridiculous.
“If you have got 20 goals, you can ask those things, maybe. But none of those players have scored more than 15 goals, and they are asking for things. It is crazy.”
It remains to be seen whether Amorim will attempt any other position changes at Old Trafford next term, and it might depend on who else comes through the door this summer.
