Harry Kane has revealed the Manchester United legend he would have “done anything” for during a recent interview.

After spending over a decade at Tottenham, Harry Kane has been flying as the new star striker at Bayern Munich, scoring 28 goals in 27 appearances so far this season.

Kane was Erik ten Hag’s number-one striker choice at Manchester United in the summer, but after it was clear that the move wouldn’t be possible, the club opted to sign Rasmus Højlund instead.

Speaking recently, Harry Kane has now revealed that he used to idolise Manchester United legend David Beckham, with the ex-England winger being one of the most iconic football players of all time.

“I used to look up to players like David Beckham”, Kane told BBC Sport.

“Now I’m in that situation – there are a lot of young boys and girls looking up to me. Looking at what I do, not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well.

“You listen to your role models. I would have done anything Beckham said when I was a kid.”

Harry Kane would have been an excellent addition to Ten Hag’s side, who have struggled for goals this season, with his vast Premier League experience and knowledge of how to lead a line.

However, Rasmus Højlund has himself picked up form of late, scoring in his last four Premier League fixtures and taking his tally for the season up to ten – he is the only Old Trafford player to have scored double digits so far this campaign.
