Harry Amass has delivered praise for two ‘unbelievable’ teammates at Manchester United as he attempts to push himself into Erik ten Hag’s plans.

Amass, 17, has started the last two games on United’s pre-season tour – against Arsenal and Real Betis – and has impressed massively.

After some initial struggles in the pre-season opener against Rosenborg, the left-back has quickly proven why he is one of the most highly-rated players in the academy.

The former Watford player was key to the Under-18’s success last term, which saw them lift three trophies across the season.

Compared to Luke Shaw, Amass has great technical ability and almost never loses the ball when it’s at his feet.

He has a dangerous whipped cross which was on display against Betis as he set up Amad Diallo for the team’s second goal of the game.

Despite having some defensive issues, like the lack of awareness which saw him lose his run for the Spanish team’s opener, Amass has time to improve and shows great determination in most defensive positions.

One player he looked to link-up well with was Marcus Rashford, who he played behind in the last two games.

“I think he’s one of the best players in the Premier League,” raved Amass when asked by reporters about his relationship with United’s no.10.

“He’s unbelievable, so playing with him is quite easy. He understands my game and makes everything 10x easier.”

It appears that Amass could be set to get first-team opportunities this coming season, but he is still extremely eager to learn.

Earlier this year, Shaw named Amass as a young star for fans to watch out for, and the 17-year-old has explained how he’s taking everything on board from the club’s longest-serving player.

“I think I can learn a lot from him,” added Amass. In my opinion, he’s been one of the best left-backs in the Premier League in the last five years. I’m just speaking to him every day, asking little things on and off the pitch.

“Like what he does on the pitch, the decisions he makes, and his recovery off the pitch. Stuff like that. He’s a good person to learn from.”
