Harry Amass sends ‘special’ message to Manchester United teammate, Darren Fletcher completely agrees

Harry Amass has labelled one of his Manchester United teammates as ‘special’ following on from their impact against Burnley.

Manchester United dropped two points against Burnley in Darren Fletcher’s first game in charge of the Reds but there were positives to take from the game.

United dominated the clash and limited Burnley to just one shot on target. Them scoring two goals suggests that it was pure luck that they salvaged a draw.

The way Fletcher’s side attacked was also impressive and the team created many chances for Benjamin Šeško, who scored twice in the game.

Shea Lacey’s impact in the final minutes of the fixture was another positive sign, with the 18-year-old proving that he is ready to contribute going forwards.

Lacey, 18, only played around 10 minutes at Turf Moor but managed to have two big moments with long-ranged efforts. One smashed the crossbar while the other glided just past the post.

Even though neither effort went in, Lacey showed the kind of quality and determination you need to break through into the first-team and many fans are hoping that he features against Brighton on the weekend.

The youngster took to Instagram following the Burnley draw to write: “We tried until the end. thank you to the fans.” Harry Amass was among those to comment on the post.

Amass, who made his United debut last term and is currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, simple replied: “Special,” with a love-heart emoji.

Amass and Lacey are two academy players who have a great chance of becoming first-team regulars at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.

Fletcher completely agrees about Lacey

Amass was not the only person to praise Lacey, with interim boss Fletcher also making sure to highlight the youngster’s impact and ability.

“He is exciting, he is direct, he is fearless. He had a really bright game,” the Scotsman told reporters when asked about the academy graduate.

“I’m pleased for him. He has had a lot of injuries in recent years and he hasn’t been able to get his momentum going but we know the talent he has got. He will be a big part of Manchester United’s future, I have no doubts about that.”

With the Reds in FA Cup action on the weekend, Lacey could be in line for his first start and he will be eager to impress once again.
