Harry Amass receives exciting three-word message from Bruno Fernandes after Manchester United debut

Harry Amass made his Manchester United debut on his 18th birthday during the comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester City on the weekend.

Manchester United secured a dominant victory over Leicester City in the Premier League, with Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho both ending their goal droughts.

Ruben Amorim’s side started strongly, taking a deserved lead as Højlund netted his first goal in 22 games. United controlled the match at the King Power Stadium, maintaining their dominance.

Garnacho doubled the lead in the second half with a sharp finish after an earlier effort was ruled out for offside, before Bruno Fernandes sealed the victory with a stunning strike from the edge of the box.

Harry Amass was also gifted his first-team debut after patiently waiting for his opportunity. It was on his 18th birthday and he gave a good account of himself.

Amass finally makes United debut

United fans were extremely excited to see what would happen with Amass this season after his excellent performances in pre-season.

Erik ten Hag decided against using him afterwards and when the managerial change happened in November, Amorim also avoided using the left-back earlier on.

There were rumours about the defender going on loan in the January window but he ended up staying put and has been regularly involved in the squad recently due to injuries.

It was a brilliant moment to finally see Amass take to the pitch against The Foxes and looked mostly comfortable, with his technical level obvious in the game.

The teenager completed 10 of his attempted 11 passes, two of which were into the final third. He also battled relatively well, winning three of seven duels.

Amass receives exciting message from Fernandes

Amass took to Instagram after the game to reflect on making his debut. “Amazing feeling to make my debut for such a massive club and a great win for the team,” he wrote.

Club captain Fernandes, who received Man of the Match on the night, sent an exciting response to the teenager, commenting: “Just the beginning 💪🏼”.

On his own Instagram story, Fernandes added: “HB (happy birthday) and congratulations. What a day to remember kid!”

Amass will be hoping to get further involvement in the first-team before the end of the season and Amorim has admitted that he loves giving such opportunities to the youth.

“They have to understand they’re so lucky to play for Man United,” he said of the youth talent to the BBC. “At the same moment, I have so much fun putting young kids to play….”
