Harry Amass’ next target revealed after failed Manchester United loan, his camp’s stance is clear
Harry Amass will remain at Manchester United for the remainder of the season despite initial plans to find a loan move for him in the January transfer window.
Manchester United starlet Harry Amass made his name known to supporters during the latest pre-season tour.
The young left-back made a positive impression in the United States and many were expecting him to become a first-team squad member under Erik ten Hag.
However, the Dutch manager suggested that he needed several more months in the Academy before making appearances for the first-team.
Then in November things changed when Ruben Amorim took charge following the sacking of Ten Hag.
Instead of being promoted, Amass has been working hard in the Academy. He has made 17 appearances for the various youth teams so far this season.
Amass unable to secure January loan
It was decided before the January transfer window that United would look for a potential loan deal for the 17-year-old for the second half of the season.
Although, it had been stressed that Amass would only be sent on loan if the right opportunity came around, with there not being an urgency to go out to any club.
In the end, the right club clearly did not come calling and Amass has remained at Old Trafford for the rest of the season where he will likely continue to work in the Under-21s.
Some fans are concerned about the situation with Amass after the signings of Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon. The pathway is beginning to look very different to last summer.
Amass’ target revealed after failed United loan
However, it has been reported by Nath Salt of MailSport that there remains a calmness within Amass’ camp despite missing out on a loan this month.
It was further explained that Amass is targeting a really good loan in the summer, heading into the 2025/26 campaign.
Amass will be looking to gain experience away from Old Trafford before competing for a spot in Amorim’s squad in the 2026/27 season.
The teenager joined the club from Watford in the summer of 2023 and has been one of the standout players in the Academy since then, being a key member of the Under-18s treble-winning campaign last term.
