Harry Amass sends brilliant message to Erik ten Hag – Man Utd fans will love it
Harry Amass has sent a brilliant message to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Reds put on an impressive display in their pre-season match against La Liga opponent Real Betis in San Diego, scoring three first-half goals to secure the win.
Erik ten Hag started with a more experienced lineup, but once again included young star Harry Amass following his strong performance against Arsenal.
The 17-year-old left-back was highly effective with the ball, delivering a beautiful cross to assist Amad Diallo for United’s second goal of the night.
Despite his youth, the left-back issues at Old Trafford could provide Amass with a first-team opportunity when the Premier League season begins.
Asked by reporters whether he thinks he is ready for that challenge, Amass was brilliantly confident in his response.
“I mean, if the opportunity comes around, then I’m going to grab it with two hands,” he asserted.
“I think I am ready. That’s what I want to do; that’s what I’m here to do. I’m here to play first-team football.”
Amass has been training with the first team at Carrington for over half a year now and appeared on the bench for several games last term.
Since moving into that first-team environment, the teenager has learnt many things, but he believes that the importance of keeping the ball is the biggest one.
He added, ” Probably the most important thing is keeping the ball, not being too rash with it, making sure we have the ball, and finding the space instead of forcing it.
“Players around you, it helps every day. In training, you’ve got some of the best players with loads of experience, so it’s easy.”
