Gary Neville has made a bold score prediction for Manchester United’s upcoming clash with Fulham in the Premier League.
Manchester United return to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon to face Fulham, as Michael Carrick looks to maintain his perfect start in the dugout.
Carrick has overseen impressive consecutive victories against Manchester City and Arsenal in his first two matches in charge, with United taking maximum points from encounters against the league’s top two sides. Those wins underlined the team’s ability to rise to the biggest occasions.
Attention now turns to a different kind of challenge, with a confident Fulham side arriving in Manchester hoping to upset the hosts.
The visitors currently sit seventh in the Premier League, just four points adrift of United in fourth. Unlike recent high-profile clashes, United will be expected to take the initiative and deliver a commanding performance.
Neville makes bold score prediction for United vs Fulham
United’s victories over City and Arsenal were brilliant, especially because no one expected them to get six points from those games.
But Carrick’s side must follow up on those results this weekend, otherwise they will not mean as much. Fulham are in-form and a different challenge for the Reds.
Against the Premier League’s top two teams, United were able to thrive on the break but they will be expected to dominate and unlock Fulham’s defence.
That is going to be a new task for Carrick but his ex-teammate Gary Neville believes that he will be successful in getting three more points.
Neville predicted the scoreline on the ‘Stick to Football‘ podcast: “3-1,” he said. “It’s like a different draw, a different type of test on Sunday, which is interesting, but I think they will come on top.”
Carrick warns United about Fulham clash
United have the advantage of playing at home for this game but that is not a guarantee that they will win the game.
Carrick knows that and he has warned his side to not take ‘anything for granted’ in this clash during his pre-match press conference.
I think the boys are in a good place going into the game,” he said. “It is a tough game, a really tough challenge. Marco has got them into a really good team.

“All of a sudden Fulham is a different game because we are at home. Taking anything for granted is bang out of order really and it might be the case the flow of the game is the same as the last two.
“There is no shame in that. We will deal with game in front of us and we will do whatever it takes to come out on top.”
