Leny Yoro has issued a defiant 11-word message amid bizarre rumours linking him with an exit from Manchester United this summer.
Leny Yoro has been nothing short of a sensation under Rúben Amorim since he made his debut for Manchester United in December.
The 19-year-old was signed for around £52 million from LOSC Lille amid intense competition from Real Madrid. However, fantastic work from Omar Berrada and United legend Rio Ferdinand convinced the Frenchman to choose Old Trafford as the ideal place for his development.
United signed Yoro to be the future of Erik ten Hag’s back four as the right-sided centre-back, but following the arrival of Amorim, the teenage star has developed into an integral part of the club’s new back-three system.
Although he started as a right-sided centre-back, Yoro has grown into the role of taking over from Lisandro Martínez on the left of the back three and has not looked back since.
Bizarre rumours linking Yoro with a move away
Despite Yoro’s clear love for United in his opening few months at Old Trafford, a report from Spanish outlet Defensa Central claims that the young defender regrets his choice to pick United over Real Madrid.
It is claimed that, with Los Blancos hunting for a new centre-back this summer, Yoro’s agent Jorge Mendes is trying to orchestrate a move to Madrid this summer.
However, with United reportedly demanding at least the £52 million fee they paid for Yoro in 2024, Real Madrid do not want to fork up the amount he would cost and are not happy that Yoro initially chose Old Trafford over the Bernabeu.
Madrid are therefore looking to see if they can sign one of either William Saliba from Arsenal or Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth this summer as alternatives.
Yoro is going absolutely nowhere this summer
It is crazy to think that Yoro would have a move out of United on his mind, considering his public affection for United, the fans, and those surrounding him. It has been widely reported that he has struck up a particularly close friendship with fellow United talent Kobbie Mainoo.
Yoro was instrumental once again as United breezed past Athletic Club in the Europa League semi-finals, playing the full 90 minutes as United won 4-1 on Thursday night at Old Trafford, accumulating a 7-1 aggregate win.
In reaction to the result, Yoro once again showed his commitment to the club with an 11-word reaction posted to Instagram. Several photos of his celebrations at full time accompanied the caption, “One step closer to history. Fully locked in on our goal.”
Yoro’s performances across 2025 have solidified him as one of the best defensive talents across world football and a future Premier League and United great. He is going absolutely nowhere this summer.
