Manchester United duo Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo both pulled out of international duty this week after suffering issues.

The Reds have had a difficult time so far this season, with just three wins in all competitions after 10 games.

Erik ten Hag is once again under pressure and there could be further concerns for the Dutch manager due to some injury concerns.

The issues are building up for United, with the likes of Noussair Mazraoui and Harry Maguire among those expected to be unavailable for the next few weeks.

Concerns also surround the exciting young duo of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho after both players pulled out of international duty this week.

While some will hope that these absences are to ensure their fitness for United when the break is over, there could be some issues to watch out for.

Alejandro Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho played more minutes than any other United winger in the last two fixtures. He played 90 minutes against Aston Villa and 45 minutes in Europe against FC Porto.

In both games, the Argentine winger had knee strapping visible and reports claimed that he was initially a doubt for the Porto clash.

The winger posted on his Instagram story after pulling out of international duty: “I had knee problems in the last two matches, and I won’t be able to be with the national team, but I hope to recover so I can be on the next date.”

There is currently no further information on the winger’s issue but there will likely be slight concerns about his workload, especially since it is a knee injury.

Kobbie Mainoo

Kobbie Mainoo also had to pull out of international duty with England this week with an FA statement claiming that the midfielder suffered injury during United’s clash against Aston Villa.

He played 85 minutes during the 0-0 draw against The Villains after missing the mid-week game against FC Porto with a hamstring injury.

The club also confirmed that Mainoo has “been managing an issue” in recent weeks after missing the Europa League clash.

This follows on from reports that suggested United wanted to rotate the 19-year-old more after a busy opening year of professional football for club and country.

Out of the two players, he is more likely to have a more careful reintegration even if he is deemed fit to return next week when Premier League football returns.
