Fulham vs Manchester United referee confirmed as Premier League select Manchester-born official
The Premier League have confirmed who will be officiating Manchester United’s away fixture against Fulham on Sunday evening amid table turmoil.
Manchester United are returning to Premier League action this weekend as they travel to face Fulham amid mixed form for both clubs.
Rúben Amorim’s men have come off the back of a last-gasp win over Rangers following a brilliant strike from club captain Bruno Fernandes, although they are continuing to suffer in the league.
Last time out, United fell to a deflating 3-1 loss against Brighton as they sit 13th in the domestic table, sitting 10 points from the relegation zone and 14 from the top four of the table.
After two wins and a loss in back-to-back-to-back home games, United will be hoping they can take the good feeling from their win over Rangers on the road to London, with three points becoming a necessity.
The Premier League have confirmed who will officiate the fixture on Sunday evening, with United playing in a 19:00 GMT kick-off fixture.
Confirmed officials
Anthony Taylor (pictured below) will be the referee on Sunday evening in London. Taylor has officiated 20 Premier League matches this season as well as five in UEFA competitions.
Taylor has met United three this season, officiating the side’s 3-0 loss against Liverpool at Old Trafford earlier this season, as well as the brilliant 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad.
The Manchester-born official was also in charge of Amorim’s first game as United’s head coach, the 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town in November.
So far this season, Taylor has issued 69 yellow cards in the Premier League and 98 across all competitions. He has issued two red cards and has awarded 11 penalties this season, nine coming in the Premier League.
During the game, Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn will serve as Taylor’s assistant referees. Sam Barrott will be the fourth official on Sunday afternoon, separating Amorim and Marco Silva.
Jarred Gillet has been appointed as the Video Assistant Referee. Darren Cann will act as assistant VAR.
