Fulham boss Marco Silva offers extraordinary praise for “massive” Manchester United star

Fulham boss Marco Silva was not shy to offer extraordinary praise for one Manchester United star ahead of the clash on Sunday.

Manchester United turn their attention back to the Premier League this weekend after an important win in the Europa League against Rangers.

Ruben Amorim’s side will face a tough test away from home against Fulham, who are sitting 10th in the league table.

Marco Silva’s side have impressed this season and it is a reality check to United that they are not favourites going into this clash.

For the Reds, they will be hoping for some of their star players to step up in this difficult moment like Bruno Fernandes did against Rangers.

Silva offers extraordinary praise for Fernandes

Fernandes, 30, has nine goals and 11 assists so far this season and Fulham boss Silva is more than aware of his talents.

“Since Bruno arrived [in England], I think he’s made a massive impact in a massive club,” Silva claimed in his pre-match press conference.

“You are not talking about any club, you are talking about Man United and made a massive impact on them since he arrived.

“He arrived in the middle of the season and after that the season, the season after was a very good one from him as well.”

One of the best attributes the Portuguese international has is that he does not hide in difficult moments, and that is something that Silva admires.

“And one of the things, even if you are not involved, you can see it, he never hides and that is one of the things clear about himself – for sure, he’s not a player who hides himself or fears something,” the Premier League manager added.

“On the pitch, he’s always facing the challenge in front of him and to be honest he’s what you expect from a top player and captain.”

Fernandes will step up for United

Fernandes is respected by all of his teammates, opposition players and managers.

United fans have complained a lot about players hiding in difficult moments but Silva makes a good point that this is never the case with the club captain.

Amad has been very impressive so far this season but if he is not the one to step up for United, you can almost guarantee it will be Fernandes.

It will be a difficult game against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, but the Reds need to find some sort of consistency sooner or later.
