Form guide: Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United (Carabao Cup)
Manchester United and Nottingham Forest have both been on mixed recent form as the two sides go to battle in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Manchester United have faced Nottingham Forest once already this season, in a Premier League fixture at Old Trafford, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Fred providing the goals in the 3-0 victory.
This was during United’s brilliant period of form which saw Erik ten Hag‘s men win seven fixtures in a row after the return of domestic football – but their form of late has taken a rocky turn.

Last five fixtures: L, D, W, W, W
Manchester United most recently suffered their first loss in over two months thanks to a last-minute winner by Eddie Nketiah against Arsenal. Despite scoring twice, Ten Hag’s men ultimately fell short in North London.

A few days prior to this loss, they also suffered a last-minute equaliser against Crystal Palace to draw 1-1 with the Croydon-based outfit, with Michael Olise firing in a rather spectacular free-kick at Selhurst Park.
These two fixtures came just after United defeated Manchester City in the Premier League at Old Trafford, in a spectacular match that saw Rashford and Bruno Fernandes climb United from loss to win in a matter of minutes.
Previous to these two results, United had won their last nine in all competitions either side of the World Cup, with Ten Hag no doubt targeting this fixture as one to rebuild confidence from in the form of victory.
Nottingham Forest
Last five fixtures: D, W, W, L, W
Forest have had a similar last five results to United, winning three, drawing one, and losing one. However one of these wins did come in the form of a penalty shootout, overcoming Wolves after a 1-1 draw thanks to heroics from Manchester United loanee, Dean Henderson.
Forest most recently drew 1-1 against Bournemouth in the Premier League, which followed an impressive 2-0 victory over Leicester City seven days prior, however were also knocked out of the FA Cup earlier this month with a disappointing 4-1 loss against Championship side Blackpool.
