Fabrizio Romano says Ruben Amorim ‘loves’ two Man Utd stars, he will build around them
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Ruben Amorim ‘loves’ two Manchester United stars amid a contract update provided.
Ruben Amorim began his tenure as Manchester United head coach on Monday, arriving at the Carrington training ground to start his new role.
He was welcomed by key figures in the club’s football operations team, including Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox, and Dan Ashworth.
Amorim’s first match in charge will be a Premier League away fixture against Ipswich Town next weekend.
While the international break limits his time with the full squad, Amorim will focus on implementing his 3-4-3 system during training and getting to know those within his team.
Fabrizio Romano reveals Man Utd players Amorim loves
However, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the new head coach already has a fond view of certain players, with Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro among the type of player that he ‘loves’ and will build forward with.
“Ruben Amorim loves this kind of player. So, Mainoo and Leny Yoro, this sort of player is exactly the direction he wants to take with Manchester United,” Romano said in his latest YouTube video.
The two teenagers have not had a major impact this season, with injuries impacting them both, yet they are expected to be fit in the coming weeks as Amorim’s reign at Old Trafford begins.
With the need for athleticism and confidence on the ball in his defenders, it is no surprise that Amorim will love having Yoro in his squad.
Mainoo has already shown his abilities in a misguided United team and Romano delivered further details on his current contract situation.
Romano delivers Kobbie Mainoo contract update
“Man Utd have not forgotten about the situation of Kobbie Mainoo. I told you that for United it was important to try to advance on contract talks,” the Italian journalist added.
“United are still working and now there’s a new manager who will talk with and inform Kobbie about his new idea. Mainoo is a crucial player for the owners, directors, and staff.
“The new contract of Mainoo will be an important topic. United are working on it. We’re not yet at the final stages but the conversation remains positive on both player and club sides.”
