Fabrizio Romano has revealed Barcelona’s dressing room view on Marcus Rashford after the on-loan Manchester United star notched another two goals.
Marcus Rashford started his Manchester United career as a beacon of hope, as he looked to carry the torch for his boyhood club from a very young age.
After a fantastic early career, the Englishman then started to experience some difficulties both on and off the pitch and became the target of much criticism, which was often unfair.
When Ruben Amorim arrived at the club, it was decided very quickly that Rashford would not be a part of his plans, which led to him being loaned out to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa.
After a decent loan spell, Rashford was then left to find himself a new move, which has seen him move to Barcelona in an attempt to rediscover his old self. With the 27-year-old now flying high in Spain, Fabrizio Romano has revealed the club’s thoughts on him.
Rashford’s Barcelona dream
Per the Daily Star, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the English winger has not only won over his manager, Hansi Flick, but has also won over his teammates in Catalonia.
Romano said, “Rashford is sending very clear messages, his desire to be a Barcelona player is there since January 2025, so basically almost one year ago.
“In the January window, it was not possible to make the deal happen because Barcelona didn’t have the space to register and sign Marcus Rashford because Ansu Fati didn’t want to leave the club in January.
“Then in the summer, Ansu Fati accepted the possibility to leave Barcelona, went to Monaco. Barcelona had the space to sign Rashford and completed the transfer on a deal with a €30 million buy option clause, but now, Rashford is performing in a fantastic way, already reaching 10 goal contributions – between goals and assists – and doing very well in the Champions League.”
Barcelona’s dressing room view
Rashford continued his fine form on Tuesday evening, as he scored another two goals for Barcelona in the Champions League during their 6-1 win over Olympiacos, where he started as a striker.
Romano also stated that, “They are all very happy with all the relationships Rashford has with his team-mates as well. The reputation of Rashford is something that has to be clarified. He is really popular in the dressing room at Barcelona.”
“If Marcus Rashford will continue like this in every single point of view – delivering performances and perfect attitude – he will have very good chances to continue at the club beyond this season.”
Clearly, the English winger is on his way to finding his old self and is enjoying the luxury of playing with such world-class stars, so only time will tell whether he can keep up his fine form ahead of next summer.
