Fabrizio Romano has revealed the ‘perfect deal’ which Manchester United’s chiefs are ‘very happy’ about after the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are slowly improving under new boss Ruben Amorim and many players are looking better under his leadership.

The Reds signed five first-team players in the latest summer window. Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte and Leny Yoro look like they will be key players for Amorim.

Joshua Zirkzee is the only one who hasn’t really looked hugely impressive but he looks to be getting used to the pace and physicality of the Premier League, with three goals in his last three starts.

However, they were not the only players who United signed in the summer, with INEOS having a clear focus on bringing in exciting young talent.

Chido Obi Martin’s solid start at United

Alongside the likes of Sekou Kone and James Overy, the Reds managed to secure the signing of 17-year-old starlet Chido Obi Martin from Arsenal.

Obi Martin is considered one of the best young strikers in Europe and has already made an impression at Under-18 and Under-21s level at United.

The striker most recently scored a brace in a comprehensive 5-0 win in the FA Youth Cup and has seven goals in four starts.

He is still getting up to speed after an interrupted summer and pre-season, but is already exciting within the walls at Carrington.

Fabrizio Romano: United chiefs see Obi Martin deal as ‘perfect’

For a small compensation fee, there is little downside to the Obi Martin deal and huge potential benefits should he develop into the player many expect.

Fabrizio Romano has detailed that United chiefs are ‘very happy’ with the 17-year-old so far and believe he could be a ‘big player’ for the club in the future.

“The new plan with INEOS is not only to see these players first, but also to invest in some of them and make the deals happen at the right time,” Romano wrote in his GiveMeSport column.

“That’s what Manchester United did last summer with Chido Obi-Martin, who left Arsenal’s Academy after scoring an insane number of goals for a kid of his age.

“And Man United arrived with an important financial proposal, but especially with a clear pathway to include Obi-Martin in the first team as soon as possible.

“That made the difference to get the green light and sign Chido for a small compensation fee, and it’s considered a “perfect deal” by those at the club internally.

“The feedback? They are very, very happy with Chido so far; Man United believe he has important potential and could become a big player in the future, of course with patience and remembering he’s still a kid now.

“But the impact has been absolutely perfect. Behind the scenes, Chido has already signed his first pro deal at Man United in November, even if there’s no club announcement yet.
