Fabrizio Romano provides true update on ‘awful’ Man Utd star after Ruben Amorim’s frustration

There have been several rumours flying around about one Manchester United star while Ruben Amorim appears frustrated with other developments.

Manchester United are trying to improve their forward line this summer by signing players like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Goalscoring was a huge issue at Old Trafford last term but there were also some concerns at the back, especially between the sticks.

André Onana had a very disappointing season and has lost the trust of many United supporters after making some high-profile errors, some of which have been described as “awful”.

There have been some rumours about him being sold this summer, with clubs reportedly interested in signing the Cameroon shot-stopper.

Romano provides truth on Onana

The latest rumours surrounding Onana have been that AS Monaco enquired about signing the United goalkeeper but that has since been dismissed by Fabrizio Romano.

“I am told that Monaco are not in active talks to sign Andre Onana, despite what other reports have suggested,” the Italian journalist told his YouTube channel.

“Monaco are looking to sign a keeper but they have not made any approach for Onana.

“If Onana leaves for Saudi or other destinations, then United will try and sign a keeper and they really like Emiliano Martinez who is open to a move even without Champions League football.

“But it all depends on Onana, who is happy at Manchester United and open to staying.”

Amorim frustrated over lack of signings

The goalkeeper situation at United doesn’t seem like something that is going to be resolved soon in the transfer window.

Although, there are other positions which should be strengthened soon but Cunha is currently the only signing through the door so far.

Talks with Brentford over Mbeumo are ongoing but reports suggest that Amorim is growing frustrated with the lack of movement so far.

The United boss is desperate to have new signings in the building for the beginning of pre-season and the club’s first friendly game is now in four weeks time.

While there is a need to get the right deal for players, United also need to ensure that they work quickly enough to give Amorim these players during pre-season.
