Fabrizio Romano confirms surprise loan move, knock-on effect can give Manchester United star dream transfer

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed a surprise loan move which could lead to one Manchester United star getting his dream transfer.

Manchester United are planning to make major changes this summer following on from the most embarrassing season in recent memory.

Without European football next term, Ruben Amorim has around £100 million to play with in the transfer window and will then be relying on player sales for extra cash.

There are numerous players linked with an exit from the club, including those currently on loan such as Marcus Rashford and Antony.

Rashford, 27, is currently on loan at Aston Villa but it feels unlikely that the Premier League side take him on a permanent transfer this summer.

Instead, the English forward seems to be eyeing a move abroad, which was also his preferred destination before leaving Old Trafford in January.

Fabrizio Romano confirms loan which could give Rashford dream move

Rashford wanted to join Barcelona earlier on this season and the La Liga club were also interested in securing his services. A move broke down because the Spaniards could not move on Ansu Fati.

The story remains similar heading into the summer, with Barca and Rashford both still keen to work together but they need to make space in their squad for the United forward.

Latest reports from Fabrizio Romano have revealed that Fati has now agreed a surprise loan move to AS Monaco for next season, which clears the space for an additional signing in the frontline.

The main thing which seems to be standing in Rashford’s way of a dream move to the Camp Nou is their interest in Luiz Diaz of Liverpool as well.

Barca’s sporting director, Deco, said this week: “We like Luis Diaz, we like Rashford… and we like other wingers too. We can’t talk about players under contract with other clubs.”

Rashford situation won’t be solved quickly

No matter how things unfold, it feels unlikely that Rashford’s future will be finalised until late in the window, which isn’t ideal for those at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old has monstrous wages, going along with a price tag of at least £40 million, which will certainly impact Barcelona’s ability to act quickly.

There should be other clubs interested in the player, as there were in the mid-season window, but his team will want to wait and see what the best deal is over the summer.

Meanwhile, those at United will be waiting to receive the cash from his exit, which will be important to allow further signings for Amorim’s squad.
