Amad has been out of action for two months with an injury issue but is pushing to return for Manchester United before the end of the season.
Amad has been with Manchester United since January 2021, consistently showing the talent needed to break into the first team at Old Trafford.
The Ivorian winger’s journey required more patience than most, with early loan spells at Rangers and Sunderland as he worked towards his ultimate goal.
Despite making significant progress, his role in Erik ten Hag’s side remained uncertain, with the Dutch manager preferring Antony—who is now on loan at Real Betis.
Things changed with the arrival of Ruben Amorim. Under the new head coach, the 22-year-old quickly became a key figure in the squad and was rewarded with a new long-term contract at the start of the year.
Unfortunately, just as he was hitting his stride under Amorim, a freak training-ground injury seemed to have ruled the Ivorian out for the rest of the season, however, it has since been mentioned that he could return before the campaign concludes.
Amad spotted in United training
United fans were delighted to see the first images of Amad at Carrington since his injury on Wednesday afternoon before the team jetted off to France for their Europa League clash against Lyon.
The 22-year-old star was pictured in the gym working hard at his recovery, but still had a ball at his feet in one of the images. “A sight that will brighten your Wednesday,” the club’s X account wrote.
It was a nice boost for supporters to see Amad, with the hope that he can return as soon as possible to help Amorim’s side before the season ends.
With trouble finishing chances at the top of the field, he would certainly help inspire some quality in the final third for the Reds.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Amad return date
Those training images of Amad have come shortly after an update from Fabrizio Romano on when we can expect the player to return to the pitch.
The Italian journalist, who has close ties to Amad’s camp, has claimed that he is “ahead of schedule” in his recovery but stated that club staff are not prepared to take any risks by rushing him back.
However, he added that Amorim could have the star back for selection in May for the final stretch of games this term.

United could be set to play Europa League semi-final games at the start of May while the final of the competition is played on 21 May.
As for the Premier League, Amad may return to play either West Ham at Old Trafford on 10 May or Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 18 May, depending on his recovery.
Everybody will be hoping that the exciting Ivorian will be available for those games.
