UtdDistrict have been told exclusively by former Manchester United ace Clayton Blackmore as to which trio will improve the most under Michael Carrick.
Manchester United recently opted for a change in management as they decided to part ways with Ruben Amorim after only 14 months at the club.
Following two games under Darren Fletcher, the Reds decided to hire former Red Devil Michael Carrick as their caretaker until the end of the season.
With it being likely that Carrick reverts the United squad into a more familiar 4-2-3-1, many are speculating as to who in the team will benefit the most from this transition.
When speaking exclusively to UtdDistrict via Betfree, Clayton Blackmore has revealed which trio he thinks will be impacted the most by Carrick’s tenure.
Blackmore’s United trio
Speaking to UtdDistrict via Betfree, Blackmore was asked who he thinks will have the biggest impact from Carrick being in charge, to which he listed three United stars.
Blackmore said, “For me it’s [Bryan] Mbuemo for sure. He was playing so well before he left for AFCON, and Carrick can continue to get the best out of him to make us offensively better and scoring more goals.
“Casemiro brings experience in midfield as the holding midfielder and can really give a lot to the team in this position to move the ball forward and protect the defence.
“[Harry] Maguire as well, in a four at the back, can do a good job. Strong in the air, back to basics for Man Utd with a solid back four to work well as a unit.”
Will Carrick suit the players?
Despite not being victorious in their past two games under Fletcher, there were positives to be taken for the Reds as they moved back to a 4-2-3-1 for the first time since before Amorim.
This more conventional system looks like it could better suit the profiles within the United squad, especially when the likes of Amad and Mbeumo are back from their international duties.
With Bruno Fernandes being moved back into his former role as an attacking midfielder, as well as having two holding midfielders behind him, United will give themselves every chance of better controlling their fixtures.
Even if Carrick isn’t to be the long-term solution for the Reds, simply moving his side back into a formation that suits the players could benefit United further down the road.
