Ex-Manchester United defender claims Erik ten Hag should start star over “rubbish” Marcus Rashford
Marcus Rashford was Manchester United’s top scorer last campaign, scoring 30 goals during Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge.
Manchester United enjoyed a fruitful campaign under Erik ten Hag during his first season in charge, with the club winning their first trophy under the Dutchman and securing a third-placed Premier League finish.
The cup win included goals in the final from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford, and the season also saw the breakthrough for Alejandro Garnacho, who lit up Old Trafford with fantastic displays off the bench.

Former United defender, Paul Parker, has claimed that Garnacho should become a starter for Ten Hag next season, and should be in the XI ahead of “rubbish” Marcus Rashford.
“I would expect Garnacho to step up during the pre-season and I expect him to be a starting player in the first game in the new season”, Parker told SpilXperten.
“He really wants to prove something and Erik ten Hag really wants to work with him now. He has done more than any of the other attacking players have done this whole season, despite his injuries.
“I also expect Lisandro Martinez to step up and at worst be at the same level as he was before his injury. The fans really love him and he will have the whole Old Trafford supporting him, so he should be even better than he has been already.
“I also expect Varane to be even better. He has been good but he is still a bit fragile. Hopefully, he can be the leader we all want him to be in the next season.
“Casemiro has to step up as well. He has been amazing but he still makes those stupid tackles that put every teammate in jeopardy. So, he is another player that could take a step up.
“I need to say that I mentioned those players because I actually have expectations for them due to their really high level. I don’t have expectations for Rashford, who in fact has been rubbish.”
