Ex-Man Utd star explains four qualities Benjamin Šeško will bring for Rúben Amorim, it’s why Rasmus Hojlund is leaving

Mikael Silvestre has explained four traits Benjamin Šeško will bring to Rúben Amorim’s side following the Slovenian’s transfer from RB Leipzig.

Rasmus Højlund’s time at Manchester United appears to be under serious threat following the signing of Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig.

The Slovenian forward arrives after Højlund’s failure to establish himself as a dependable goalscorer, netting just 26 times in 95 games under Erik ten Hag, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Rúben Amorim.

While he has enjoyed spells of excellent form, Højlund has also endured prolonged goal droughts, prompting Amorim to bring in a striker of the same age but with greater top-level experience.

Signed for £72 million in 2023, the Danish international has struggled to meet expectations, and United are now preparing to part ways with him this summer.

Šeško will bring four qualities for Amorim

Amorim recently admitted that some of United’s poor performances last season were due to the lack of presence at striker, but that Šeško’s signing will hopefully alleviate the tactical disadvantage they suffered from.

Following the £66.3 million move, former Red Mikael Silvestre has explained that the Slovenian has four qualities relating to his presence, height, athleticism, and physicality that could make him a handful for Premier League defenders.

“Benjamin Šeško is an upcoming talent, and he’s got certain qualities that could fit into Ruben Amorim’s style of play,” Silveture said in a recent interview with Hajper.

“He’s got presence, height, he’s good with his back against the defenders. He’s got the athleticism to respond to the physicality of the Premier League. He’s ticking a lot of boxes for sure.”

Højlund’s physicality is why he is leaving

Højlund is seemingly edging closer to a move away from United this summer, with his representatives said to be advising him that he departs the club in search of regular game time.

With a loan offer from AC Milan with the option to sign the player permanently for £39 million next summer on the table, it seems as if Højlund’s future now lies back in Italy.

The Danish international has many raw qualities that could turn him into a fantastic striker, with his raw speed, good shot power, and relentless work ethic forming good building blocks.

However, the major criticisms of Højlund have come concerning his physical battles against Premier League centre-backs.

Too often, he has been caught wrestling with his opponents instead of being able to trap a ball and play it to his teammates, and with that being one of Šeško’s skills, Højlund being moved on to accommodate the new signing no doubt helps advance Amorim’s starting team.
