European giants now ‘considering Antony bid’ as second Manchester United star admits he wants to ‘leave the Premier League’

A new European giant has entered the race for Antony this summer, as one of Rúben Amorim’s players admits he wants to leave the Premier League this summer.

Manchester United’s summer shake-up is in full motion, with Rúben Amorim making bold, early decisions to mould the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, and Victor Lindelöf will depart once their contracts expire, while Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly been told he can find a new club. Rasmus Højlund could also be sold if the right offer arrives.

The club are preparing to part ways with Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia, hoping to generate over £100 million in sales to fund incoming transfers.

Amorim is targeting reinforcements in key areas, particularly up front and in midfield, with a focus on adding physicality, athleticism, and technical quality.

United have already announced the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and are pressing ahead to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Juventus step up interest in Antony

Antony’s six-month loan spell at Real Betis was an almost-perfect decision from the club’s board. After falling out of favour at United, the Brazilian netted nine goals and provided six assists in 26 appearances for the La Liga side.

He was a major driving force in their bid to win the Europa Conference League, although Betis lost out against Chelsea in a 4-1 defeat in the final.

However, his individually impressive displays have caught the eye of Juventus, with UOL Esporte reporting that the Serie A side are considering advancing their interest and making a move for the winger this summer.

UOL reports that the Turin-based outfit initially identified Antony as a possible target toward the beginning of 2025, and is well regarded by the board at Juventus.

Eriksen wants to leave the Premier League

Aside from Antony’s possible sale, Danish midfielder Eriksen is a confirmed departure from Old Trafford this summer, with his contract set to expire at the end of this month.

At 33 years of age, Eriksen feels he still has plenty left to give among Europe’s top five leagues, but recently admitted that he would like to sign for a club outside of England next.

“Right now, there is nothing,” Eriksen told TV 2 Sport when asked about his plans for the future. “There is interest all around, but there is nothing that I am close to signing. My focus will be to play international matches and then have a good summer holiday.

“Then we will see how long the holiday will be. I would rather get away from the Premier League. I feel I have had my turn in the Premier League, so I am looking outside the English borders

“It’s been a great place for me and my family, and we’ve been there for many years. When I moved from Tottenham to Inter, it wasn’t the plan for me to go back to England. I’ve been there for three and a half years again since then, so you can never say never, but the priority is for me to leave.”
